The UNF Digital Humanities Initiative would like to thank everyone who made our inaugural Digital Projects Showcase (Wednesday, November 2, 2016) a success. We’d like to recognize in particular Stephanie Weiss (Thomas G. Carpenter Library), who led the organizing committee, as well as committee members Deb Miller (Center for Instruction and Research Technology, CIRT), Margaret Stewart (Communication), Karthik Umapathy (School of Computing), and Christos Lampropoulos (Chemistry). We are particularly grateful to CIRT for all the organizational and in-kind support they provided, including help with room layout and setup, poster printing, publicity materials, and refreshments. We would also like to thank the faculty, staff and students who presented their projects, representing areas across the campus, including the Brooks College of Health; the College of Arts and Sciences; the Coggin College of Business; the College of Computing, Engineering and Construction; the College of Education and Human Services; the Hicks Honors College; CIRT; and the Thomas G. Carpenter Library. We are grateful as well to all those who attended. We were pleased to have with us two special guests representing the DH community at the University of Florida: Laurie Taylor, digital scholarship librarian at the George A. Smathers Libraries, and Poushali Bhadury, Digital Humanities graduate intern and PhD candidate in English. We look forward to possibly inviting local and regional academic and cultural institutions, as well as members of the technology industry, to participate in this event the future.
