            came here from <name type="place" subtype="city"><ptr target="st-augustine-fl"/><choice><abbr>St</abbr><expan>Saint</expan></choice> Augustine</name><choice><orig/><reg>,</reg></choice> <name type="place" subtype="state"><ptr target="florida"/><choice><abbr>Fla.</abbr><expan>Florida</expan></choice></name><choice><orig/><reg>,</reg></choice> in<lb/>
            <date when= "1931">1931</date>. Teaches<choice><orig>,</orig><reg/></choice> making of bracelets, rings<choice><orig/><reg>,</reg></choice><lb/>
            baskets, belts<choice><orig/><reg>,</reg></choice> and other trinkets from<lb/>
          <choice><sic>beeds</sic><corr>beads</corr></choice> strung on wire. Also teaches novelty<lb/>
          leather belt making, different in many<lb/>
          respects from plain or cut work leather<lb/>
            belts. His design is very unusual<choice><orig/><reg>,</reg></choice> re<choice><orig>-</orig><reg/></choice><lb break="no"/>quiring many pieces of leather cut into<lb/>
          regular<choice><orig> </orig><reg>-</reg></choice>shaped designs <choice><abbr>&amp;</abbr><expan>and</expan></choice> woven together<lb/>
            without use of thread or any other material<choice><orig/><reg>,</reg></choice><lb/>
            except at each end w<supplied reason="letters obscured" cert="high">here</supplied> a <choice><sic>buckel</sic><corr>buckle</corr></choice> <choice><abbr>&amp;</abbr><expan>and</expan></choice> tip are<lb/>
          used. The tip is fastened with a snap.<lb/>
          No other metal is used.<lb/>

          years of age, the son of poor parents<choice><orig/><reg>,</reg></choice> and<lb/>
            one of eleven children. Was born in <name type="place" subtype="city"><ptr target="bishopville-sc"/>Bishop<choice><orig>-</orig><reg/></choice><lb break="no"/>ville</name><choice><orig/><reg>,</reg></choice> <name type="place" subtype="state"><ptr target="south-carolina"/>

          <name type="person">Mr. R.E. Dennis</name> and Ex<choice><orig>.</orig><reg/></choice> <name type="person"><choice><abbr>Gov.</abbr><expan>Governor</expan></choice> T.G. McCloud</name> (7)<lb/>

         Was employed in <date when= "1932">1932</date> as vocational <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>i</reg></choice>nstruc<lb break="no"/>tor for the blind by <name type="institution" subtype="govenment_body">Rehabilitation <choice><abbr>Dept.</abbr><expan>Department</expan></choice> State<lb/>
